Determined step onto the property ladder but are concerned that you don’t have enough funds to do so? Heard the word FirstBuy but don’t completely understand what the new home moving scheme is all about?

If so, you need to pay a visit to Persimmon Homes’ The Marketplace development in Gloucester where the Government-led 80 per cent FirstBuy scheme is now on offer.

Alison Reading, sales director for Persimmon Homes South Midlands, is confident the initiative will help local househunters. She said: “As a Group Persimmon Homes has been given the largest allocation of properties through FirstBuy by the Government and we are delighted to offer the scheme to purchasers at our The Marketplace development.”

Through FirstBuy purchasers will own 100 per cent of their new home and are required to raise funding (a mortgage plus deposit) of at least 80 per cent of the purchase price. The remaining 20 per cent is an interest free loan for the first five years.

The Marketplace hosts a beautiful collection of sizeable two bedroom Nailsworth apartments, with prices through the FirstBuy scheme starting from as little as £98,396 and to give interested parties an idea of how these designs will look, Persimmon has opened a new Nailsworth show apartment.

To find out more about the FirstBuy scheme, log onto www.persimmonhomes.com/firstbuy.

Alison concludes: “Due to a limited supply of housetypes through the FirstBuy initiative, I’d recommend househunters speak to our sales advisers sooner rather than later as there are just three Nailsworth apartments remaining in the current release of properties at The Marketplace.”

The initiative, which allows first time buyers and key workers to own 100 per cent of their home after initially paying for just 70 per cent of the asking price, has been a great success in Gloucester, as it has enabled a greater number of youngsters starting out on the property ladder to buy their first home.

Alison Reading, sales director for Persimmon Homes: “The HomeBuy Direct scheme is a real positive step, helping to restore the growing confidence and stability in the property market by giving customers who may have limited funding a real opportunity to purchase their own a new home.”

The scheme aims to assist households with a combined income below £60,000 and who may not have adequate funds for a significant deposit. House buyers are only required to secure funding for 70 per cent of the purchase price, including a mortgage and a small deposit. CHOICE IN ABUNDANCE FOUND AT PERSIMMON’S KINGSWAY DEVELOPMENT

If you’re looking for a property which boasts ample living space, in a sought-after location in Gloucester, at a price you can afford, then Persimmon Homes South Midlands’ Kingsway development will be right up your street, as it offers all three in abundance.

“No matter what your taste, requirements or budgets, we have a property to suit you as we have such a wide selection of housetypes on offer at Kingsway which are appealing to first time buyers, couples, young and growing families as well as those looking to downsize,” states Alison Reading, sales director for Persimmon Homes South Midlands.

Persimmon has reported that it is selling the properties at Kingsway ahead of schedule with househunters taking advantage of the reasonably priced homes on offer. Alison adds: “We’re selling at least one property a week at the moment, demonstrating the appeal of what we have available.”

To make the buying process that much more affordable, Persimmon is also offering the 70 per cent shared equity HomeBuy Direct initiative, to enable those earning less than £60,000 to purchase 100 per cent of their home for initially just 70 per cent of the marketed price. The remaining 30 per cent is made up by an equity loan which is co-funded by the Government and Persimmon Homes.

Under the scheme, purchasers could secure their brand new housetype at Kingsway for just £97,997 for the coach house design.

Persimmon’s latest phase of housetypes at the development include a selection of three and four bedroom properties with prices start from £161,995 (£117,997 with HomeBuy Direct) and £229,995 respectively. Also on offer is the beautiful two bedroom coach house, which is ideal for first time buyers and is priced at £139,995 (£97,997 through HomeBuy Direct).

Alison concludes: “The number of visitors we’re welcoming each week and the speed of reservations means that there will soon be limited availability for each housetype, so I’d recommend those thinking of moving home soon come and visit our Kingsway development before they potentially miss out.”

Located on the southern boundary of Gloucester, Kingsway is just a short drive from the city centre and the M5, for easy access to Stroud and Bristol to the south and Cheltenham, Worcester and Birmingham to the north.

Persimmon is not only building new homes but as part of the consortium an entire new community is being developed too. Kingsway Village already boasts a new school, and future developments will include community centre, health and sport facilities including a cricket square, a pavilion and tennis courts, as well as shops, play areas and parkland.

With easy access to Gloucester city centre and its excellent amenities, the development offers modern living in an exciting new destination. Gloucester is an excellent location with a good road network enabling residents to enjoy semi rural life with access to nearby towns and cities.
