THE MARKET PLACE

NEW HOMES TO BE RELEASED AT GLOUCESTER’S FLAGSHIP REGENERATION SITE

Gloucester is quickly becoming a property hotspot thanks to its well established service industries and growing financial and business sector, a trend stimulated further by the city’s ambitious regeneration drive.

Persimmon Homes, one of the UK’s largest homebuilders and a large driving force in the city’s renewal, will soon be releasing brand new houses in one of the areas earmarked for regeneration – the city centre-based The Marketplace.

Located off St Oswald’s Road, the development will feature a total of 450 properties, ranging from one and two bedroom apartments to two, three and four bedroom homes, available in a variety of styles, from townhouses to traditional family homes.

As well as excellent new housing, residents of The Marketplace will enjoy a whole host of superb local facilities from a large retail and leisure complex to an improved infrastructure network and the vicinity of city centre bars and restaurants.

All homes will be available to private purchases and the first phase of new properties will be released for sale in December and incentives worth £2,000 for purchasers who are looking to reserve before Christmas.

Alison Reading, sales director at Persimmon Homes South Midlands, comments: “The Marketplace is our fifth development in Gloucester to date as we continue our commitment to investing in the future of this booming city.

“The homes we are planning to build will come in a great range and will be built to a high specification. They will cater for a variety of househunters from first time buyers keen to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city to families who value convenience and good design.”

The homebuilder will be incorporating four differing styles of showhome, giving a host of would-be purchasers the chance to view the home most suited to them. Persimmon will be opening a two bedroom coach house, two differing three bedroom townhouse designs and a four bedroom family home.

Alison concludes: “Prices will be released shortly but we can already say with confidence that this development will be an attractive option for buyers who will be able to choose from a number of our great incentives.”

The Marketplace, named after the famous Gloucester cattle market that used to take place at the site, will be a prime living spot. Located within a walking distance from the city centre, it will offer access to the train station and the A40, which links the city to the M5.

Free Rugby Tickets Won

Mike Tuck presenting Mr & Mrs Mayo with the winning tickets
Last month Michael Tuck Lettings offered the chance for visitors to ‘Gloucestershire Landlord Expo’ held at Gloucester Rugby Club, Kingsholm to win a pair of ‘1873 stand’ tickets to watch Gloucester take on Saracens at home on January 3rd 2009.

The day was a great success with over 50% of visitors to the exhibition entering the free prize draw at the Michael Tuck Lettings stand.

The event was organised by Stroud District Council with support from Gloucester, Tewkesbury, Forest of Dean and Cotswold councils and provided a series of talks throughout the afternoon to help landlords keep up to date with all the new legislations and tax issues when renting out property.

Ian Lazell, Director of Michael Tuck Lettings commented “ the whole event was a success from start to finish, we had various staff from Michael Tuck offering friendly advice on lettings, EPC’s, property sales, HIPS and mortgages. This proved to be very useful for a number of visitors. The response to the event proved there are many landlords in Gloucestershire that are keen to ensure that tenant’s welfare is paramount. If any landlords were unable to make the event and would like our help in advertising or letting their property then you can still contact any of our six Gloucester offices to find out more information”

The prize draw was won by Mr & Mrs Mayo from Stroud who were astonished when Ian Lazell gave them the good news by telephone on December 3rd. Mr & Mrs Mayo managed to attend three of the talks during the afternoon and felt the event was interesting and well supported by a variety of companies offering help and advice

After the prize presentation Michael Tuck joked he would be standing in ‘The Shed’ during the game and Mr & Mrs Mayo should not feel guilty sitting in one of the best seats in the ground and use of the clubs facilities.
